Kris Hallengren Joins Local Advisory Firm Vallit Advisors

Vallit Advisors has announced that it has expanded its team of dispute, forensic accounting, and business valuation experts through the addition of Kris Hallengren as a partner at the firm. “Adding Kris to our firm is a continuation of our plan and commitment to create the premiere resource for dispute, forensic accounting, and business valuation expertise in this region,” said Mark Norris, cofounder of Vallit.

Vallit was formed in 2018 as a partnership between Norris and fellow dispute, forensic accounting and business valuation expert Charles Rains. When launching the firm, the two well-recognized dispute, forensic accounting, and business valuation experts announced plans to expand the firm by adding other prominent advisors in the region. That has quickly materialized through the addition of one of the region’s most recognized dispute, forensic accounting, and business valuation experts.

Hallengren previously served as the director of the Forensic Accounting and Valuation Services division at Weyrich, Cronin & Sorra LLC. He is one of the area’s leading recognized dispute, forensic accounting, and business valuation experts with nearly 20 years of experience in public accounting. For the last 15 years,  his exclusive focus has been valuation and dispute engagements. Formerly, he worked for the national firm, Clifton Gunderson, where he served as Manager.

Beyond his experience in public accounting, Hallengren has been a frequent presenter and speaker through continuing legal education (CLE) presentations for attorneys at various firms and bar associations. He has extensive court experience, having testified at depositions and trials in most counties in the Baltimore and Washington metro area as well as Federal Court. He is also the current Secretary/Treasurer to the Maryland Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers. He is the former chair of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants’ (MACPA) Forensic & Valuation Services Committee and New/Young Professionals Network.
